Library Archives
Convent & Stuart Hall’s archives provide an opportunity to identify, preserve and exhibit the school’s many historical and organizational materials. The archives were established in the 1960s by then-Director of Schools Mary Mardel, RSCJ, who recognized the institutional and historical value of chronicling and saving school-related materials. We are grateful to Sr. Mardel, Mary Ashe '48 and Virginia Murillo '48'44 for their tireless dedication to the archives and to the preservation of the rich history of Schools of the Sacred Heart San Francisco.
Thousands of items, including photographs, yearbooks and letters, are housed within the archives and available for research and teaching tools. As school archivists catalog and digitize materials (in keeping with the Society of American Archivists content standards), they continue to discover unique and historically significant items.
