It has been fun meeting students, staff and teachers and interviewing them for the paper. My writing skills have improved considerably as well, and I am learning to make deadlines and write concisely.

Favorite Subjects
My favorite subjects are Mathematics and Physics. I have always loved math because of its universality: everyone knows that 1+1=2. The idea that there is only one correct answer appeals to me. I am studying physics for the first time and really enjoy it.

Favorite School Activity
My favorite school activity is writing for The Roundtable. Writing for the paper has forced me to step out of my comfort zone. It has been fun meeting students, staff and teachers and interviewing them for the paper. My writing skills have improved considerably as well, and I am learning to make deadlines and write concisely.

Favorite School Tradition
My favorite school tradition thus far is Congé. Congé is a day when the students get the day off from class and get to go somewhere to have fun together. No one knows about it beforehand. I loved Congé this year because it was a day to celebrate with my school and bond with my classmates and peers. Since I am a freshman I am excited for the three Congés I have left.

Favorite Space on Campus
The Carroll Learning Commons is my favorite space on campus because it is a great place to study. It is always quiet and peaceful, and I go there when I need to get work done.

Best Part of Your Day
My favorite part of the day is Physics class. Our teacher makes the class very interactive and empirical. I enjoy learning through the experiments we do. Even though I don't have the class every day, I look forward to it because I know I will learn something new each class.

Favorite School Project
In Honors Geometry we had to create a plankton in a 3D printing program, then find the surface area and volume of the plankton. Designing the plankton took me around five hours! However, the most challenging part was finding the surface area and volume of the plankton because of the sheer amount of shapes involved in my object. I think it was a great way to help me remember all the formulas for surface area and volume.

Benefits of Single-Sex Classes, Coed Community
Attending a single-sex school has helped me create strong relationships with my male peers. Being part of a coed community as well has allowed me to make friends with the girls, too. Having both options is the best of both worlds and offers us a great balance.

Future Career Path/Fields of Interest
I want to study aerospace engineering in college, and my goal is to be an astronaut. I have always been fascinated by space, and I want to see it for myself.
