I love how English and art are connected; they allow me to express myself in a creative way where I don't have to worry about there being only one right answer.

Favorite Subjects
Art and English are the two subjects I enjoy the most. As someone who has a creative frame of mind, I feel like I can truly express myself in these classes, whether it's through painting, designing or taking photos. I love how English and art are connected; they allow me to express myself in a creative way where I don't have to worry about there being only one right answer.

Favorite School Activity
My favorite school activity is yearbook. I'm on the design team for Trés Bien, and so far we're only a small group of girls, but we have formed a really supportive, thoughtful and connected community. We give each other constructive criticism, which is really helpful because it allows us to grow and complement each other's skills.

Favorite School Tradition
Congé is my favorite school tradition. It brings both high school divisions together as a whole and gives us all a free day to interact with each other in a fun and enjoyable environment. I love the fact that we get to spend time with our friends and take a break from our rigorous curriculum.

Favorite Space on Campus
My favorite space on the Broadway campus is the Belvedere. It inspires me, helps me get a good start to the day and makes me proud to be a student at Convent. I'm an extremely social person, and the Belvedere allows me to catch up with my friends. The view is also breathtaking; when it's a clear day, you can see the whole city, and it is absolutely beautiful.

Best Part of Your Day
One of the best parts of my day is free period. I look forward to this block of time so I can catch up on my work and move ahead so that I can later have time to spend with family and friends. It's also a really good time to meet and work with teachers when I'm confused about a particular subject.

Favorite School Project
A school project I'm most proud of is a project we just completed in art class. The main goal of the project was to create a poster in InDesign of a female artist who embodies a form of activism. My artist of choice was Lorna Simpson, an African American artist who made many pieces of work celebrating her culture. I'm really proud of this piece because of how hard I worked on every detail. I think the reason I did so well was that this project combined two things that I am so fascinated and passionate about: activism and design.

Benefits of Single-Sex Classes, Coed Community
I have 100% benefitted from going to a single-sex school. Having most of my classes with the same gender has allowed me to excel and thrive in a safe and supportive environment, and this has resulted in my personal growth and an increase in my confidence. Though I am a student at an all-girls school, I don't feel isolated from boys because there are boys taking classes on campus throughout the day.

Future Career Path/Fields of Interest
As of now, I want to pursue design, film and social justice activism. I'm really passionate about design and film because they give me the opportunity to create things in my own creative way. Activism is really important to me because I want to affect change and make an impact and improve societal conditions. It would be a dream to design and write articles for The New York Times regarding important topics happening today.
