Beyond Zoom: How 4th Graders Are Helping Others from Home

By combining service to the community with an English letter-writing unit, fourth grade students are bringing smiles to the faces of dozens of residents at St. Anne's Home who are dealing with loneliness and social isolation.

At the core of the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart education is "a social awareness that impels to action." So how are Convent & Stuart Hall students continuing to live the values of Goal 3 while sheltering at home? Fourth grade teacher Corinne Corrigan and her students found a way to virtually extend a hand by writing letters to residents at St. Anne's Home on Lake Street in San Francisco.
