Mass of the Holy Spirit Celebrates Beginning of School Year

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is an opportunity to pray for guidance and wisdom as we undertake the work of our Sacred Heart mission during the 2021–22 school year.

Students in Grades 3–12, faculty and staff celebrated the start of the academic year on September 30 with the Mass of the Holy Spirit, a longstanding tradition held, in recent years, at the beautiful Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption.

Following opening remarks by President Ann Marie Krejcarek, Monsignor John Talesfore, pastor of Saint Matthew Catholic Church in San Mateo, presided over a service that was infused with music performed by elementary and high school choral groups.

Student body presidents from all four divisions concluded the service, reflecting on what the Convent & Stuart Hall community means to them in the context of this year's theme, Found Blessings. Given attendance limitations set by St. Mary's Cathedral, students in Grades K–2 ushered in the new school year with a spiritual reflection from campus.

We invite you to explore photos and a short montage video of music performed at the service.
