I think the more coed aspect of high school adds different perspectives and can make classes more fun, while keeping the more important core classes single-sex.

Favorite Subjects
My favorite subjects are Chemistry and Ethics & Moral Decision Making. I love both of my teachers because they make the classes fun and interesting, and I always look forward to learning from them.
Favorite School Activity
My favorite school activity is field hockey or being an admissions ambassador. I love field hockey because it's a fun, good source of exercise, and I've made good friends in different grades. I love being an admissions ambassador because I can support a school that I love and meet new people!
Favorite School Tradition
My favorite high school tradition is the Ring Ceremony, where each senior highlights and acknowledges a junior. The juniors get their senior rings as well, if they chose to buy one, so it's an advancement ceremony too. I love it because it's a great way to highlight each of the juniors and see the bonds between the grades! It can also be fun for the underclassmen to think about who their seniors will be and guess which pairs will emerge.
Favorite Space on Campus
I love the Belvedere. It's a quiet place to enjoy the expansive view, I can watch everybody in the Main Hall and it's a great spot to have lunch with friends.
Best Part of Your Day
I always look forward to my walks in between campuses. I have to change campuses after every class, and in the beginning of the year I didn't like my walks, but I've learned to love the brain break combined with the fresh air and catching up with people I didn't know well before.
Favorite School Project
Our final U.S. History project was a research paper on anything in United States history. I took AP Art History this year and discovered that I love art and its history, so I combined topics. I wrote my final essay on three works of art produced during the Harlem Renaissance and how they — and other pieces — contributed to the education and awareness the people living in the north had about slavery at that time.
Benefits of Single-Sex Classes, Coed Community
I've been at Convent since Kindergarten. I believe being in a single-sex environment is incredibly beneficial, especially at a young age, because girls and boys can feel more comfortable expressing themselves, which leads to rich discussions and deeper learning. As I've gotten older, I think the more coed aspect of high school adds different perspectives and can make classes more fun, while keeping the more important core classes single-sex.
