We welcome you to Convent & Stuart Hall — virtually! There are lots of great ways for you and your family to learn about life at Convent & Stuart Hall. We invite you to supplement in-person visit opportunities at the Kindergarten, Grades 1–8 and high school entry points by exploring this self-guided tour of our campuses. 2222 Broadway

The Flood Mansion, located at 2222 Broadway, was donated to Schools of the Sacred Heart in 1938 by Maud Lee Flood, whose husband James Flood built the marble mansion as their home in 1914. The building serves as the hub of the Broadway Campus and is the starting point for visitors. Some Stuart Hall Lower Form classes are held in the newly redesigned Adams and Deming rooms near the main entrance.

2252 Broadway

Constructed in 1905 for a lumber and railroad magnate, Hammond House has been home to Stuart Hall for Boys since the Society bought the building in 1956 to start a K–8 boys program. It underwent a major seismic retrofitting renovation starting in 2006 and reopened in fall 2009.

2200 Broadway

Constructed in 1910 for the president of Columbia Steel Company, Grant House was sold to the Society in 1950. In February 1951, girls in Grades 1–8 moved into the building. To this day, the house is home to Convent Elementary.

Siboni Center for Arts and Sciences

The Siboni Center for Arts and Sciences, located behind Grant House, includes several tiers down the hill to the corner of Buchanan and Vallejo Streets. The Siboni Center, used by students throughout the year, was completed in 2004 and named for the Siboni family. Middle and Upper Form boys and girls benefit from two new science labs.

Herbst House

Built in 1914 by famed Orpheum Theater architect G. Albert Lansburgh, the Beaux-Arts influenced Herbst House was sold to the Schools of the Sacred Heart in 1985. Money for the purchase was raised in the school’s first capital campaign, which launched publicly in 1981. Herbst is now home to elementary school students and the Admissions Office.

2222 Broadway

High school classes are held on the second and third floors of this building. The third floor also houses our College Counseling office and Williams Library, which has one of the best views in the city!

Siboni Center for Arts and Sciences

The Siboni Center for Arts and Sciences has 42,000 square feet of art studios, music practice spaces, science labs, exhibit galleries and the 355-seat Syufy Theatre. It gracefully folds into the San Francisco landscape with its five tiers of stairs down the Webster street hill.

1715 Octavia (at Pine)

Completed in 2000 as the home of Stuart Hall High School, the Pine-Octavia complex is actually three structures: the historic Morning Star Building, the glass and brick building on the corner of Octavia and Pine; and the attached 1850s Victorian named for former Director of Schools, Dr. Mary Magnano Smith. Convent High School students also now attend classes on this campus.
