A child applying to kindergarten for the 2008-2009 school year must be 5 years of age by July 15, 2008.
Application Requirements
A complete applicant file includes the following:
- completed Application Form (front and back with signature)
- $75 application fee made payable to Schools of the Sacred Heart (fee waiver is available)
- completed Confidential Student Evaluation Form (from current preschool teacher)

The completed application and fee should be sent together to the Admissions Office to begin the admission process. Applications received by December 12, 2007 will receive priority consideration.
Admissions Assessment
Upon receipt of the application form, your son will be assigned two separate visits to Stuart Hall for Boys: one to assess developmental readiness and the other to participate in a group play activity. Both dates will be held on a weekday.
School Tour
Please call the Admissions Office at 415.563.2900 to arrange the required school tour for parents. Kindergarten tours last two hours and include a discussion with the Head of School.
Confidential Student Evaluation Form
Sign and deliver the confidential Student Evaluation Form to your son’s current teacher. The completed form should be returned in a sealed envelope directly from the preschool to the Admissions Office no earlier than mid-December and no later than January 7, 2008.
Parent Interview
A parent interview at the kindergarten level is not required but is available upon request. If you would like to schedule an interview or have any questions, please call Pamela Thorp, Director of Admissions, at 415.292.3113. Interviews begin October 1 and continue through the month of January. Interviews are 30 minutes long.
