  • President Repels off Downtown Skyscraper for Outward Bound

    Dozens of supporters of Outward Bound took the plunge off the roof of the Hyatt Regency in a free-hanging repel down 23 stories over Market Street on March 27. President Ann Marie Krejcarek was one of them, joined by Convent & Stuart Hall parents Art & Kadi Ringness.   • Muslim in America: a Panel Discussion

    An interdisciplinary project in Jaime Weintraub's seventh grade Religion class at Convent had students looking at the Muslim faith through the lens of history, theology and art. The research project culminated with a panel discussion on March 19 with six traditional Muslim women originally from Yemen.

    On the heels of receiving the 2014 First Amendment Press Freedom Award for promoting student free speech, Convent High School hosted free speech activist Mary Beth Tinker on April 3, along with Frank LoMonte from the Student Press Law Center in Washington DC.

  • Pinewood Derby Sets Record with 152 Racers

    The 7th Racing of the Pinewood Derby on April 6 brought over 150 racers and their families to the Herbert Center Gym, while raising money for the Sacred Heart Primary School in Uganda. The event was supported by Stuart Hall High School volunteers. See pictures of the custom racecars here.

    In wrestling for the North Coast Section on February 28, four Knights had a combined total of six individual match wins, which bests the school's previous record of two. Congratulations to freshman Alex McDonald (2 wins), sophomore Arjun Saxena (2 wins), junior Gennaro Covelli (1 win) and senior Xa Conrad (1 win).

    Rattle, a national poetry publication, has selected a poem by Maxi T. to feature in this year's Rattle Young Poet's Anthology, which will feature only 60 of the more than 2,000 works submitted.

  • Interim Middle Form Deans Appointed at Convent & Stuart Hall

    Convent & Stuart Hall Middle Form families will have new Deans for 2014-2015. With Dennis Phillips' appointment to lead The Regis School in Houston and Joanna Gallegos' decision to retire, the administration has appointed interim Middle Form Deans while they explore the administative structure that supports students, parents and faculty.
