STEM Summit Encourages Girls to Pursue Passions and Find Mentors

Convent girls in grades 7-12 attended the school's first STEM Summit March 20. They heard an inspiring keynote address from Microsoft researcher Dr. Krysta Svore (Forest Ridge '97) and a panel of women working in various STEM fields answered their questions. Afterward, students skyped with NASA and the San Domenico robotics team, spoke with a Google engineer, and perused the Lawrence Hall of Science Festival.

Alumni Reconnect in NYC

Over the weekend of March 8, Convent & Stuart Hall alumni living in the New York area met with President Ann Marie Krejcarek for a delightful brunch at the home of Charlene Chuang 01'97 and libations at Rosie O'Grady's restaurant in Times Square.

8th Graders Beat Alumni Team in Basketball Challenge

On Friday March 15, thirty Stuart Hall for Boys alumni showed up to play the 8th grade class in the annual Alumni Basketball Challenge. The entire Stuart Hall for Boys community cheered on both teams while sporting festive St. Patrick's Day gear. The game was tied up with a minute and a half left on the clock when the 8th graders made a comeback and took victory over the alumni team for the second year in a row!

Alumni Liturgy & Convent Elementary Pizza Party

Over the past week, the Alumni Office has hosted several exciting events for our alumni. Convent Elementary alumnae from the Class of 2012 gathered for the Alumnae Pizza Party at the Grant House on February 12. Each year, this BASH-sponsored welcomes back recent Convent Elementary alumnae. On February 15, nearly 50 alumni and their families gathered for a special Alumni Liturgy followed by a St. Valetine's Day-themed reception. Alumni from all four schools enjoyed reconnecting on a sunny San Francisco day.

Gingerbread Coloring Contest Winners!

This year, the Broadway Alumnae of the Sacred Heart (BASH) Gingerbread Workshops included a Gingerbread House coloring contest for our elementary students. The winners are Nicholas S. (Stuart Hall for Boys fourth grader) and Margaux B. (Convent Elementary second grader). Margaux and Nicholas will each receive an ice cream party for their class. Check out their winning pieces. Congratulations to both!

Thrilling Alumni Game at SHHS

Stuart Hall High School alumni & and their families returned on December 22 for the alumni basketball game followed by lunch and the Knight's Varsity Homecoming game against Leadership. Aeon Wong's late 3-point baskets propelled the Class of '08 to a thrilling 51-50 victory in the alumni game, which featured guys from the Class of '06 to the Class of '12.

Mark Swartz SHB ’97 visited Stuart Hall for Boys on December 13 and spoke with the boys about overcoming fears, the value of a Sacred Heart education and what it was like to pilot one of the flyover planes during the first game of the World Series.
