[Video] Duke-Bound Rower Named Varsity Athlete of the Year

Passion and hard work have led Coco Dana to Duke University, where she will continue her rowing career this fall.

Although she started participating in the sport of rowing relatively late, Coco Dana says it came naturally to her. For the past three years, she has been a member of the Marin Rowing Association where she was honored with the club's Varsity Athlete of the Year award this spring. She will continue her rowing career at Duke University in the fall.

Coco endured a grueling two-week USRowing training camp last summer to make the US Junior National Development Rowing Team, which she led to a first-place finish at the CanAmMex Regatta over Canada and Mexico. At the time, Coco's ultimate goal was to row in college.

With that goal in sight, Coco took some time to reflect on what makes rowing so rewarding, what it takes to be successful, how Convent's Computer Science program inspired her, and more.
