The San Francisco Examiner honored three Knights with end-of-season accolades, including Miles Amos, who was named the San Francisco and Daly City "Sophomore of the Year."
When his basketball team needed him most, Miles Amos delivered. Now he's being honored by the San Francisco Examiner as the city's "Sophomore of the Year."
With Stuart Hall leading BCL-West rival University 42-35 with eight minutes left in a North Coast Section playoff game, Miles decided it was time to seal the win. He made 15 fourth-quarter free throws and finished with a season-high 27 points, leading Stuart Hall to its fourth straight NCS semifinals appearance.
"Miles was clearly the best player on the court that night on both sides of the ball," says Charley Johnson, Stuart Hall High School athletics director and varsity basketball coach. "If a game is close, he gets that 'I'm taking over' mentality. Miles has no problem with the big stage."
Sean Ingoglia (junior) and Darna Stewart (senior) both received honorable mentions for end-of-season awards.
