High School Varsity Fencing

Fencing at Convent & Stuart Hall is one of several co-ed sports, meaning the men and women practice and compete together in the Bay Counties League-West. Fencing is an exciting sport that has been said to be a physical version of chess. Practices are held on both campuses. The season runs from the end of January to the end of April, consisting of practices two-to-three times per week and a schedule of eight matches, followed by the All City Championships and the State Invitational. Students of all skill levels are welcome, from beginners to international competitors. Although the coaches have high standards for the team, this is a “no cut” sport, with all levels and abilities welcome to join. The team focuses on learning technique, tactics, physical training, and sportsmanship.
