Audiences were delighted by the Convent Elementary and Stuart Hall for Boys' production of The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf. The musical reimagined everyone's favorite fairy tale as a courtroom drama with the three little pigs hiring a lawyer and taking the Big Bad Wolf to court. Bravo to the talented cast and crew for another incredible production! See the slideshow here. Photos courtesy of Jeanne Whatmore.

  • Field Day Lunch and Volunteer Information - June 10, 2013

    Posted May 10, 2013

his is a great day of games, lunch & fun - a wonderful way to celebrate the end of the school year! 8th Grade parent, Ramsay Behnam, is chairing this fun event.

This year Field Day will be on Monday, June 10 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Moscone Park located at 1800 Chestnut (between Buchanan and Laguna). Girls should arrive at school at the regular time. Grades 1-8 will walk safely, with parent escorts, to Moscone Park. Kindergarten girls will ride the bus.

Note: Girls may leave with their parents/family members after they have signed out with their homeroom teachers. If you are not picking your daughter(s) up at the park, they will be escorted safely back to school. Parents are welcome to watch and/or join the girls for lunch. (no pets, please)

Field Day bag lunch will be provided by Epicurean. There are four choices of sandwiches: turkey & swiss, ham & cheese, soy-nut butter & jelly or roasted veggie along with macaroni salad, veggie sticks, fruit, cookie and water for $6.75. Please place your order by clicking on the google doc and entering your information. You can place your order for your daughter and any family member who will also be attending Field Day. You will need to use your child's school ID number which is also known as their PIN. If you do not have an account with cafe prepay then please contact Zelda Williams of Epicurean (zelda@epicurean-group.com) and provide her with your daughter's full name, grade, your name, email and best phone # and she will help you set up an account.

Please click this link to order your lunch. We need lots of volunteers to help on this fun day, and our Volunteer Committee Chair, Elaine Foreman, has created an on-line sign-up through VolunteerSpot. Please log-in early to volunteer for your favorite game at this link http://vols.pt/TBjYt8

  • My Trip to New Jersey (Network Exchange)

    Samrawit Beyene
    Posted April 12, 2013

Through the Sacred Heart Network Exchange Program, I got to experience education at Stuart Country Day School in Princeton, New Jersey. My visit there was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life. I got to visit cities I have never seen before like Yardley, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Princeton, New Jersey. I also got to see parts of Princeton University and many historical buildings in Philadelphia like the old City Hall building. Stuart has a big campus and a lot of empty outdoor space so it doesn't have as many stairs as Convent. Although their Sacred Heart Goals are the same, how the two schools live them out is different. They have prayers in homeroom while we have attendance and announcements. The sixth, seventh, and eight graders there have a homeroom together, but our eighth grade class seems closer than theirs. The eighth grade there is divided into three sections, while ours is divided into two. Their eighth grade has a block schedule and a clubs period at least once a week. Our schools aren't really that different. I am glad I did the exchange program because through it, I gained several new friends and made great memories. Overall, it was an amazing trip.
