AFFORDING A SACRED HEART EDUCATION

Convent is committed to offering a Sacred Heart education to those qualified students and their families who support our values and who seek partnership with our schools. The FAQs following may help you determine your eligibility for financial aid. Application for financial aid has no bearing on admission. We also offer several payment plan options.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hide All

Who should apply for financial aid? Hide

You are encouraged to apply if you believe that your resources are inadequate to meet tuition costs. Financial aid is awarded to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

How is financial aid awarded? Hide

We recognize that the primary responsibility for financing a student’s independent school education rests with the student’s family. All requests for financial aid are handled in strict confidence. Financial aid is granted without regard to race, religious affiliation, national or ethnic origin. Financial aid decisions are made separately from admission decisions.

How is financial need determined? Hide

The School and Student Service for Financial Aid provides a common and objective formula by which each family’s need can be assessed fairly and equitably. Financial aid decisions are made after the Financial Aid Committee reviews the computed Parents’ Financial Statement from the School and Student Service and the current IRS 1040 tax return. We make every effort to accommodate each family’s financial needs. However, we do not have the resources to meet all the needs of every eligible family who applies for assistance.

What if parents are divorced or separated? Hide

Convent expects both parents and/or legal guardians will contribute to tuition cost to the extent of their ability. The non-custodial parent must complete and file a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) with the School and Student Service as well as submit a signed copy of the current IRS 1040 tax return including schedules and W-2s to the Director of Admissions. Complete confidentiality is assured.

How is financial aid renewed? Hide

Families currently receiving financial aid must reapply every year. The forms are mailed in November to all current financial aid recipients. Families may expect to receive aid as long as financial circumstances remain essentially the same, commitment to Sacred Heart values remains strong, and student performance is satisfactory. To maintain eligibility for financial aid, families must keep their accounts current or have made documented arrangements with the Business Office.
