The coaching staff believes that your son should wrestle at their natural weight. We do not believe nor encourage "cutting" weight. Unnaturally losing weight makes the body weaker and results in poor wrestling. We do, however, believe in eating right to provide your body the necessary fuel for optimal performance. We will never ask your son to skip a meal; but we will ask them to eat a fruit instead of a bag of potato chips, drink water instead of a soda or sugary drink, and eat overall balanced meals. The attached file sheds some light on eating right in order to get optimal performance on the mat and at school.
