  • Baseball Takes Third Straight League Title!

    Posted May 21, 2013

The Knights took the diamond Friday, looking for their third consecutive Bay Counties League Championship. Standing in their way was the number one seed, University High School, who had split the season series with The Hall for their only loss. UHS advanced to the title game with an 8-4 win over Lick Wilmerding, while the Knights came from behind to knock off Marin Academy, with whom they also split the season series, with a final score of 7-1. Freshman Zach Avila threw for five innings in the win against Marin Academy, allowing coach Joey Railey to save senior ace Ben Carrasco for the championship game. The pitching depth paid off as Ben threw a three hit shutout with 12 strikeouts as the Knights dominated the Red Devils 9-0, lifting the BCL West Championship trophy for the third straight year! By winning the league championship, Stuart Hall earns the right to host the first round North Coast Section Playoff game Tuesday at 4:00pm at USF's Benedetti Diamond. The Hall will play host to Branson, and the game will be broadcast live via High School Cube at this link http://www.highschoolcube.com/event/north-coast-section-baseball-championships-8-stuar-310373. If you cannot make it to the game or want to have someone outside of the area follow the action live, tune in to the live broadcast!
